Located southeast of Venice and north of Playa del Rey, Marina Del Rey, CA is an unincorporated community with a population of just under 8,900 people. The community is comprised of beach front homes, the marina which moors small boats and pleasure cruise vessels and high-rise condos, apartment buildings, hotels and restaurants. It is technically part of Los Angeles, but many parts of the community have a Marina del Rey ZIP code. It is located 6 miles from Los Angeles International Airport.
The crime rate in Marina del Rey is about average in comparison to its surrounding communities. For example, the crime rate is high than the rates of Del Rey and Playa del Rey, but Marina del Ray’s crime rate is lower than that of Venice and Playa Vista. Since many of the crimes are against personal property, your homeowners or rental insurance policy should be adequate enough to cover any and all potential losses due to theft or vandalism.
